Keyword research
that points at revenue.

Before you write a page or brief a campaign, you need to know what your customers actually type into Google. We find the searches worth winning and map each one to the right page on your site.

1:1
every priority keyword mapped to one page on your site

✓ Search intent analysis ✓ Competitor gaps ✓ Keyword-to-page map ✓ Content plan

Rank for the wrong words and you'll get traffic that never buys. The right keywords bring customers ready to act.

Keyword research is the foundation every other part of SEO is built on.

What's included

More than a spreadsheet
of search volumes.

Anyone can export a list of keywords from a tool. The value is in the judgement — which searches matter for your business, which pages should target them and what to build next.

Seed & discovery research

We start with how your customers describe their problems, then expand using search data, competitors, Search Console and People Also Ask.

Search intent analysis

Every keyword classified by what the searcher wants — information, comparison, or a provider to contact — so pages match intent.

Competitor gap analysis

The searches your competitors rank for and you don't, with an honest view of which gaps are realistic to close.

Topic clustering

Related keywords grouped into topics, so one strong page targets a cluster instead of several weak pages competing.

Keyword-to-page mapping

Each cluster mapped to an existing page or a new one, with recommended titles and headings ready to brief.

Content & page roadmap

A prioritised plan of new service pages, category pages and articles, based on value, difficulty and how close you already are.

How we work

From a list of words
to a plan you can act on.

01

Understand the business

We start with your services, margins, locations and customers — because the best keywords are the ones that lead to profitable work.

02

Research & qualify

Search volumes, difficulty, intent and competitor data are combined, and irrelevant or low-value terms are filtered out.

03

Cluster & map

Keywords are grouped into topics and mapped to pages, with cannibalisation and gaps flagged.

04

Prioritise & brief

You get a clear roadmap — what to optimise, what to create and in what order — with briefs ready for your writers or ours.

01

Volume isn't everything

It's tempting to chase the biggest numbers, but search volume is only one part of the picture. A phrase with 50 monthly searches from people ready to hire can be worth far more than one with 5,000 searches from people just browsing. We weigh each keyword on:

  • Intent — is the searcher looking to buy, compare or learn?
  • Relevance — does it match a service or product you actually want to sell?
  • Difficulty — how strong are the pages currently ranking, and how close are you?
  • Value — what's a customer from this search worth to your business?
02

Mapping keywords to pages

The output that matters most is the keyword map: a clear record of which page targets which topic. It stops your pages competing with each other, shows where new pages are needed and gives writers a precise brief. We map to your existing structure wherever possible, so you're improving pages that already have history rather than starting again. The map then feeds directly into on-page SEO and your content plan.

04

One-off research or part of a campaign

Keyword research is included at the start of every SEO campaign we run, and it's also available as a standalone project — useful before a new website build, a product launch or expansion into new locations. Your research is led by a senior strategist from our Sydney office with 10+ years of experience, and you keep everything we produce.

Questions

Keyword research, answered.

What do I get at the end of keyword research?+
A keyword map showing each priority topic, its search volume, intent and difficulty, and the page it's assigned to — plus a prioritised list of pages to optimise or create. It's yours to keep.
Can I buy keyword research without ongoing SEO?+
Yes. Standalone keyword research is common before a website rebuild, a new product range or expansion into new locations. Many clients then use it to brief their own team.
Which tools do you use?+
We combine professional SEO platforms with your own Google Search Console data, Google Ads data where available and manual review of the search results. Tools give the numbers; the judgement comes from experience.
How many keywords will you research?+
It depends on your site and market. A local service business might need a focused map of a few dozen priority topics; an online store could need thousands of terms across its categories. We scope it to what's useful, not to pad a spreadsheet.
Should we target keywords with low search volume?+
Often, yes. Specific, low-volume searches tend to convert better and are easier to win. Together they can add up to more qualified traffic than one broad term.
How often should keyword research be updated?+
We review the map as part of ongoing campaigns and recommend a refresh when you add services, enter new markets or notice search behaviour shifting — at least once a year.
