A thorough, line-by-line review of your Google Ads account by a senior strategist — where your budget is leaking, what your tracking is missing and exactly what to fix first.
Most Google Ads accounts aren't broken. They're just quietly spending money on clicks that were never going to convert.
An independent audit shows you where — and what to do about it — whether you keep managing the account yourself or not.
What's included
Every part of the account, reviewed by a senior strategist.
We look at your account the way we'd look at one we were about to take responsibility for: setup, spend, tracking and strategy, with no automated score in sight.
Conversion tracking
We check what's being counted as a conversion, whether it's firing correctly and whether Google's bidding is optimising towards the right outcomes.
Wasted spend analysis
Search terms, locations, devices, schedules and placements that are eating budget without producing leads or sales.
Account structure
Campaign and ad group organisation, keyword match types, overlaps and conflicts that make the account harder to control.
Bidding & budgets
Whether your bid strategies suit your data volume and goals, and whether budget is going to the campaigns that actually perform.
Ads, assets & landing pages
Ad copy, extensions and assets, plus the landing pages they point to — relevance, speed and conversion friction.
Prioritised action plan
A clear list of fixes ranked by impact and effort, so you know what to do this week and what can wait.
How we work
A clear picture of your account, and a plan to improve it.
01
Read-only access
You grant us read-only access to Google Ads and, ideally, Google Analytics. We never change anything during the audit.
02
Deep review
A senior strategist works through tracking, structure, keywords, search terms, bidding, ads and landing pages.
03
Findings & priorities
We document what's working, what's wasting money and what's missing, with every recommendation ranked by impact.

Walkthrough
We talk you through the findings so you can act on them in-house, with your current agency or with us.
A previous agency's account structure and bid settings were quietly wasting budget. We restructured the Google Ads account and reset bidding — cost per conversion fell from $40 to $20 within the first month.
Custom apparel is a crowded, price-driven market. Google Ads management paired with proper goal tracking and a purpose-built landing page delivered over 100 leads at an $84 cost per lead.
We took over a mismanaged Ad Grants account, reconfigured it from the ground up, and upgraded ads, keywords and bid settings — then maintained it to keep the grant compliant. The client has since recorded more conversions through Google Ads than at any point in their history.
Every account is different, but the same issues come up again and again:
Tracking that doesn't reflect reality — duplicate conversions, page views counted as leads, or calls and form fills not tracked at all.
Search terms that will never convert — budget going to job seekers, DIY researchers or searches for competitors' products.
Smart bidding without enough data — automated strategies running on too few conversions to learn properly.
Performance Max swallowing branded traffic — and taking credit for sales you would have made anyway.
Landing pages working against the ads — slow, generic or disconnected from the search intent.
Fixing tracking is usually the first priority. If Google is optimising towards the wrong signal, every other improvement is built on sand — which is why we often pair audits with conversion tracking setup.

Independent, practical advice
Our audits aren't a sales pitch dressed up as a report. You'll get honest findings and a practical plan, whether you choose to implement it yourself, hand it to your existing provider or bring us in. If your account is in good shape, we'll tell you that too.
If you do want ongoing help, our Google Ads management service picks up where the audit leaves off — with campaigns structured around a target cost per acquisition and reporting tied back to real revenue.

Who runs your audit
Four Dots is a senior-led agency based in Sydney. Your audit is carried out by an experienced strategist — our team members each have 10+ years of experience across paid media, SEO and analytics — not handed off to an automated tool or a junior account manager. We work with businesses across Australia and internationally, and we don't lock clients into long contracts. Questions
Google Ads audits, answered.
What access do you need?+
Read-only access to your Google Ads account, and ideally to Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager so we can verify your tracking. We don't make any changes during the audit.
How long does an audit take?+
It depends on the size and complexity of the account, but most audits are completed within a couple of weeks of access being granted.
Will you tell us if our current agency is doing a good job?+
We'll give you an honest, evidence-based view of how the account is set up and performing. If it's well managed, we'll say so.
Do we have to move our account to you afterwards?+
No. The audit is yours to use however you like — in-house, with your current agency or with us.
Do you audit Performance Max and Shopping campaigns?+
Yes. We review Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Display, Demand Gen and YouTube campaigns. For retailers, see our Google Shopping and Performance Max service.
Can you audit Microsoft Ads too?+
Yes. Many of the same principles apply, and we can review your Microsoft Advertising account alongside Google Ads.
