Event Photos covers event, conference and headshot photography across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and the Gold Coast. Each city is its own search market, with local photographers competing for the same corporate briefs.
When Four Dots came on board in October 2022 the site was about to change platforms — the moment many businesses lose rankings they spent years building.
Migration and foundations. We ran a pre-migration audit and 301 redirect mapping so existing rankings carried across, followed by keyword research and mapping, GSC and schema audits, an XML and HTML sitemap clean-up, and fixes to headings, meta descriptions and internal links.
City-by-city keyword mapping. We researched “conference photography + city” and “event photography + city” demand for each market and gave every location its own targeted page.
Link building. Guest posts were placed to the headshot photography service through 2024, and from March 2025 Four Dots ran link building every month across the core service and city pages.
Content re-optimisation. Through 2026 we rewrote the homepage, headshot, videography and city pages — Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and the Gold Coast — to match what searchers want now, alongside local business schema for the location pages.
Between February 2025, when monthly link building began, and March 2026, estimated organic traffic rose from 159 to 343 visits a month (+116%). Keywords ranking in Google’s top 5 doubled from 54 to 112.
The estimated value of that organic traffic grew from $136 to $433 a month — more than 3× — because the gains came on commercial searches from businesses looking to book a photographer.
